As with any established organization, current members build upon what was established by older members over the years.
On behalf of the current Officers of the organization we extend a big THANK YOU to all of those who have preceeded us in service to the Church.
Behind every good Church is a strong and vibrant Ladies Society....
Well, that is not the actual quote but this will do. Over the last one hundred years there have been many challenges the Ladies Society has taken on with much success. The founders of the organization were women of faith, strength and strong family values. Most of them were immigrants from the Middle East but they lived in a small neighborhood in south Saint Louis city where everyone knew one another, doors were always left open and in the summertime the ladies enjoyed each others company on the stoop in front of their homes.
Four generations later the small neighborhood is gone but the remnant of those early founders is left in the Ladies Society and in the parish of St. Raymond's. The grandchildren and great-grandchildren of the early immigrants, in combination will all who have become a part of this parish; who will have to assume the challenge of continuing those same family values, the faith and the strength which were elements involved in building the Church.
As we continue we look to St. Raymond and to our Blessed Lady to continue to walk with us and inspire us to do good work and to do that work in the spirit of friendship, we ask God to continue to shine his favor on the hands that make the kibbie, roll the cabbage, bake the desserts and serve in the kitchen because most of them belong to the Ladies Society of St. Raymond....
