Kitchen Volunteers
They could be doing a number of other things on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday but for the core group of kitchen volunteers at St. Raymond's service to their Church comes first.

Many of them rise in the wee hours of the morning to get to the kitchen to make the dough, cut the pies, finish the hummus and mix the salads.  Many of them are retired and they have all of the usual aches and pains people over seventy sometimes have but they overlook those aches when they are generously donating their time and talent in the kitchen at the Church.

Without these volunteers (some of which are not parishioners) there would be no Wednesday lunch and St. Louis would be the loser.

If you have not experienced lunch at St. Raymond's on a Wednesday then make it a point to get there.  Large groups can be accomodated and every individual who walks through the doors of the Cedars is treated with friendship and hospitality.  While you are there you are likely to see people you know as this luncheon has been a staple of St. Louis for more than twenty-five years and is still going strong.

The parish of St. Raymond's is most grateful to all of the volunteers who make this weekly luncheon possible.  Those who roll the cabbage/grape leaves on Monday, those who make the kibbie on Tuesday and those who put it all together and serve you on Wednesdays - all are part of a core volunteer network.

The parish is most grateful to these "jewels" for their time, their talent and their committment.  The parish is also most grateful to its patrons over the years.   See you at St. Raymond's on Wednesdays between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.  Tell all of your friends!

TERRY RASK it is after 2 p.m. and Terry has been cooking since 6 a.m. Time to call it an afternoon.

(Front to back)  BABS OSEGUERA, SHIRLEY MILFORD & SIS MCGUIRE all early risers on Wednesdays.  They wrap the kibbie nayeh, mix the salads, make the dumplings, pack the pots and at the end of the afternoon put things away for the next week.

We are very proud of the quality and the authenticity of our Lebanese cuisine.   Our kitchen workers consist of many volunteers who have a lot of passion and thoroughly enjoy making some of the best food in Saint Louis.
